Do I need to know English to use this app?
Yes, you need an upper intermediate level of English (B2 or higher) as most of the lessons for levels A1-B1 are explained in English. Users with weak English skills would only be able to use a very limited number of features in the app.
Will the app help me improve my speaking skills?
lingoni FRENCH app will help you improve your reading, writing and listening skills. In order to improve your speaking skills, you will need to speak French with someone who masters the French language on a regular basis. Private lessons with a qualified native teacher are advisable, as this gives you a lot of speaking time and your mistakes will be corrected so that you will improve faster. An additional way to boost your speaking skills is by meeting up with a language exchange partner (i.e. on tandempartners.org or italki.com/partners) or joining a meetup with French speakers.

Why is my answer wrong?
There are two possibilities why your answers score ‘wrong’: - The answer is wrong. - The spelling is wrong. 1/ The answer is wrong: When you are uncertain about the correct answers, there are several ways of how you can take care of that: Please work through the activity PDF first, before doing the exercise. Please download the activity PDF before you are filling in the answers. When you save it to your computer, you can find the correct answers at the end of the PDF. Please listen again to the video with extra care. You find a lot of answers in the video and the subtitles. The fill-ins in the exercises follow the sentence-structure that you hear in the video. 2/ The spelling is wrong: If you look at the How-to Guide on page 10, you get a lot of tips of how to fill in the forms and exercises without the system scoring you ‘wrong’. Please pay meticulous attention to the punctuation (or else, the system does not recognize the answer as ‘correct’). Examples of common mistakes: Je parle français -> Wrong because there is no period. je parle français. -> ‘je’ must be capitalized at the beginning of a sentence. Examples of correct spelling: Je parle français. Tu parles français? Once you get used to the proper punctuation and spelling as required by this app, you won’t have any issues any more with other exercises. If this all does not help, we will gladly look up the correct answer for you. For this, we need the exact identification of the training (‘lessons’, ‘vocab training’, or ‘podcasts’ + their number).
